“The Second Day of July 1776, will be the most memorable Epocha, in the History of America.”
When someone mentions the term “Founding Fathers”, some notable names come to mind: Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, Alexander Hamilton, and George Washington. We think of these people because this is what we have been taught, these are the “heroes” of the American Revolution. However, there is a KEY member of the “Founding Fathers” that is usually overlooked. There are no memorials on the National Mall for him, he is not on our currency, and although there are many stories about him, they are not mentioned in school, except in higher education; this man is John Adams.
Join us as Presidential Historian Michael Sisto leads us through the life of John Adams, our overlooked founding father.
Presidential Historian, Michael Sisto has lived in the valley for thirty-seven years; he graduated with a degree in History from Mansfield University with a focus in Presidential History. He then obtained his Masters in Museum Studies from Johns Hopkins University. He currently works at the Roberson Museum in Binghamton. For as long as Mike can remember he has had a love for all things Presidential, he has gone to numerous Presidential sites, homes, museums, birth places and has visited twenty-nine of the forty president’s grave sites.
