Historic Marker Presentation

On Thursday, March 5, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. the Sayre Public Library will host a special presentation by Henry Farley, Bradford County Advisor to America250PA Bradford County. Farley will deliver a slide show that highlights the historic markers located throughout Bradford
County. This engaging presentation aims to provide an in-depth look at the county’s rich history as commemorated by these markers.
Attendees will have the opportunity to receive copies of the newly updated and reproduced “Bradford County Historical Markers & Monuments” guide. The booklet, created in honor of the United States Semiquincentennial, features information on over 100 historic markers. Each entry includes fascinating details, GPS coordinates, and historical photographs. The guide was edited by Matthew Carl, Executive Director of the Bradford County Historical Society, and produced by the society with support from a grant courtesy of the Bradford County Tourism Promotion Agency.
The historic markers span a diverse range of subjects, including early settlers, education, military conflicts, music, Native Americans, notable individuals, and more. This wide variety offers a comprehensive perspective on Bradford County’s history and heritage.
Visitors can also pick up the recently completed brochure of events for America250PA Bradford County during the presentation.
