Local Author Book Talk: Janine Oliver
March 11 @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm

Janine Oliver, LCSW, PhD, former Valley resident of Sayre, Pa., will be offering a donation of her recent book, The Anxiety Cure, Practical Drug-Free Ways to Re-Wire Your Brain, to the Sayre Public Library on March 11th, 2025, between 5:30-6:30pm. There will be a short reading from specific parts of the book, a short question and answer session, and books available for purchase, with the author’s signature, if desired.
Janine Oliver is the daughter of Joanne and James Oliver, of Sayre. Her father, James Oliver, was a frequent visitor to the Sayre library, and took Janine there when she was a small child, before beginning kindergarten at H. Austin Snyder Elementary School.
It was her father’s love of reading and mother’s encouragement that created a lifelong desire to learn, and love of reading and writing. To commemorate this passion for reading, the author wishes to donate her book to the Sayre Public Library on her father’s birthday, March 11th.
The author states it was her father’s love of learning, of reading, of their “walks downtown” to visit the old Sayre library that influenced her as a small child; and left a lifelong impression.
Janine is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Cognitive Psychologist who has her own practice where she sees a variety of clients. Dr. Oliver has been practicing for over twenty years. Dr. Oliver is also an adjunct psychology professor at Delaware County Community College, near Philadelphia, Pa, where she currently lives. She also teaches meditation and yoga at the local YMCA.
Her hobbies include reading (of course), writing, hiking with her dogs, and traveling.
We hope you can join us at this event to help spread the word about anxiety, and learn ways to decrease the detrimental impact this disorder has had upon so many.
